Derby Public Schools is launching several new programs for the 2024-2025 school year!
Cooper Elementary celebrates students in a variety of ways. A few of our reoccurring student celebrations are listed in this news story.
New for the 2024-2025 school year, Derby Public Schools is introducing a new “Partner Practice” program, designed to support our students' skill development through meaningful family engagement at home.
We are pleased to announce that our Board of Education has prioritized and approved a new School Resource Officer (SRO) position to serve our three elementary schools located outside of Derby city limits.
Welcome to Cooper Elementary! We are excited to have you at our school. Our priority is to ensure students are safe and our procedures are efficient.
All schools also utilize a visitor management system, called SafeVisitor, to enhance school entrance security, streamline the check-in process and help us to be aware of everyone in our schools.
Looking for a way to get in involved at your child(ren)'s school? Cooper's parent group: Friends of Cooper (FOC) and SITE Council are open to join!
Virtual Backpack, is a great way to stay informed and up-to-date with the happenings at your child's school.
The Kansas School Safety Hotline, 1 (877) 626-8203, can be used to anonymously report any potential school violence. The Kansas School Safety Hotline is there for you 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.
Olivia Winegeart, 2nd-Grade Teacher at Cooper Elementary, is Derby Public Schools’ elementary nominee and a finalist for Kansas Teacher of the Year 2025.
